Name :

Tony Langer- Kni - OAM

Designation :

Executive Director

Tony is former Senior Detective with the Western Australian Police and philanthropist who has a substantial history of dedication, public service and achievement. He worked as a Police Bomb technician in regional Western Australia and since 2008 Tony has devoted considerable time and energy, on a purely voluntary basis, towards explosive remnants of war clearance activities in South East Asia. This has included fund and awareness raising, coordination of donations of equipment and hands-on assistance with training and de-mining activities. During that time he has personally raised more than $102,000,000.00 worth of equipment for non-government de-mining organisations and orphanages.

Through Tony’s vision and personal funding the short documentary Remnants of War South East Asia came to life (www.remnantsofwarthemovie.com). The documentary’s aim is to raise awareness of the ongoing landmine/unexploded ordnance issues in South East Asia and to also encase the altruistic work conducted by Humanitarian Mine Action NGO'S and their affliated projects. In 2013 Tony was awarded a Knighthood (the Royal Order of Sahametrei) for distinguished humanitarian services to the King and People of Cambodia and in 2018 he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for service to the Intenrational community through landmine clearance and charitable organisations.
